The 30-Minute Rule

Long workouts are a status symbol. Short workouts are a strategy.

The best-trained people I know don't spend two hours in the gym. They spend thirty minutes with a plan, and then they leave.

Why 30 minutes works

The first 30 minutes of a session are where nearly all of the useful work happens — the heavy sets, the compound movement, the honest cardio. Everything after that is usually noise, ego, or Instagram.

What a 30-minute session actually looks like

  • 5 min warm-up: mobility + one activation set
  • 15 min main lift: 4 working sets of a squat, press, hinge, or row
  • 8 min accessory pair: superset, 3 rounds
  • 2 min finisher: sled, bike, or carries
"Consistency doesn't come from motivation. It comes from a session so short you can't talk yourself out of it."

The trap to avoid

30-minute training only works if you show up 3–4 times a week. Two sprints and five zeros is worse than four honest thirties.
